Brassica Demo Site – Weed Control Update
Unfortunately, when trying new products and combinations, not everything is safe, even if it gives great weed control.
Luckily, for the time being, our current standards are still there, providing good weed control depending upon soil moisture and seed bed conditions.
The weed control standard plots were generally good, considering the coarse seed bed, however after 5 weeks the standard plots had around 10-20% of area affected by weed (90-80% control). This is in comparison to the untreated and the majority of other treatments where 60-90% of those plots were covered by weed (10-40% control). During the screening trial a couple of prospective products and combinations were identified, which we can further develop in trials next year, sharing our skills and knowledge to grow better together.
