About the Hutchinsons Foundation

The Hutchinsons Foundation equips you with the technical knowledge, expertise and customer focus essential to establish yourself as a successful agricultural or horticultural advisor.

The programme includes yet exceeds the industry recognised qualifications of BASIS and FACTS and provides in-depth training on areas including soil, environmental and our own precision farming software, Omnia. Alongside this you will develop skills in building relationships, managing your time and learn how to develop resilience against the challenges that come with this stimulating, highly rewarding career.

The role will suit someone passionate about developing a long-term career in agronomy; building a strong reputation in your local market for providing high quality advice that supports the delivery of a successful and sustainable business for the grower. You will be passionate about developing strong relationships that are built on trust. Ideally you will have experience in agriculture and knowledge of relevant crops, to support in building your credibility with growers.  Due to the nature of the role, you will require a full, clean UK drivers licence.

With presence across the UK we will consider people in all locations, but are particularly keen to hear from people in the following areas –

  • South West
  • Peterborough and the surrounding areas
  • Central Norfolk
  • Cumbria
  • Scotland
  • Cambridgeshire
  • Herefordshire
  • Shropshire
  • Yorkshire

 

The process

Following an initial conversation/Teams meeting, the interview process will involve three stages –

*  Initial meeting with a member of the Foundation Management team and a Hutchinsons agronomist

* An opportunity to spend time out in the field with an agronomist, shadowing them to gain on the job insight

* Final stage panel interview – to take place on the 16th January 2024
