About the Role
You’ll be at the heart of our depot operations, leading a dedicated team and ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings out the best in their team, and has the confidence to manage systems, schedules, and performance all in one go.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop your team, setting clear expectations and promoting a positive, productive environment
- Oversee the full scope of depot operations – orders, deliveries, stock, fleet coordination, and facilities
- Take responsibility for cost control and compliance, especially around chemical storage, H&S, BASIS, and ADR regulations
- Ensure exceptional communication between customers and internal departments
- Make confident use of various IT platforms, including Quartix, IFS, MaxOptra, and other logistics or scheduling tools.
- Maintain accurate reporting and data management to support performance and efficiency
- Continuously review processes to drive improvement and team effectiveness
What We’re Looking For
- Strong leadership experience in depot, warehouse, logistics, or operational environments
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and inspire a team
- Confident using multiple IT systems and adapting quickly to new digital tools.
- Transport Manager CPC (desirable or willing to undertake company paid course)
- IOSH certification (advantageous)
- Knowledge of chemical storage, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
- Located within 30 minutes of Truro depot
- Willing to complete a DBS background check
